RED || SEPT 26 - OCT 12, 2025
BY JOHN LOGAN
A provocative clash of art, ego, and legacy.
Mark Rothko, the legendary abstract expressionist, has just received the most significant commission in modern art history: a series of murals for New York’s iconic Four Seasons Restaurant. For two years, he works obsessively in his Bowery studio alongside his young assistant, Ken. As the two wrestle with questions of art, purpose, and integrity, Ken finds his voice—challenging Rothko in ways that shake the artist to his core. Raw, provocative, and intensely human, RED is a searing exploration of ambition, legacy, and the high cost of creation.
RED will be performed in the Royal Credit Union Foundation Black Box Theatre at the Hanifl Performing Arts Center. All seating is general admission.
