Make the most of your visit!

(OR “What to expect WHEN YOU’RE EXPECTING TO SEE A GREAT SHOW!”)

Where should I park?

Lakeshore Players Theatre has free onsite parking as well as additional parking on Long Avenue. We recommend carpooling when possible to ensure spots for everyone, especially during matinee performances.

do you have CONCESSIONS?

A variety of drinks and snacks are for sale at our concession stand in the lobby. Our concessions window takes cash or credit card. Concessions are allowed to be consumed in the OSilas Mainstage Theatre. Depending on the performance, sometimes concessions are not permitted in the Black Box Theatre.

IS THE THEATRE COLD?

Theatre spaces do tend to run on the cooler side, so we recommend bringing a layer. Coat check will be available for Mainstage performances during the chillier seasons.

Does this show contain sensitive material? Is it appropriate for younger audiences? How long is the performance?

These are all great questions! They can be answered by visiting our individual show pages. Along with cast and crew information, we’ll list any appropriate information there as soon as we know it! Please visit our Season 71 page for links to our individual shows!

I require accessible seating, or another accessibility offering, can Lakeshore accommodate me?

We absolutely can. We have many different accessibility offerings. Please scroll to the bottom of this page to see them all listed. You are also welcome to call our box office to talk through any requests or needs you might have!

Where can I find ticket discounts?

The best deal on tickets is to become a subscriber. There are many options available for this. We also host a Pay-What-You-Want performance for many of our Mainstage productions. Also, keep your eye on our newsletters and social media pages as we occasionally offer single-ticket promotions.

Lakeshore Players does not use any third-party vendors for ticket sales. Please only purchase your tickets directly through our website or by calling our box office at (651) 478-7427.

CAN I GET A REFUND OR EXCHANGE MY TICKET?

All ticket sales are final; we are unable to offer refunds. Any unused tickets may be turned into the Box Office before any performance and be processed as a donation for a tax-deductible donation receipt. Ticket exchanges are available, but must be made at least 24 hours in advance of purchased performance. An exchange fee may be incurred. Tickets cannot be exchanged for a different production and are not available for concerts or special events. In the event of a missed performance, single tickets cannot be exchanged after the assigned performance date.

WHAT ABOUT CANCELLATIONS DUE TO WEATHER or other reasons?

As a general rule, we live by the motto that “the show must go on!” Occasionally, however, a performance must be canceled, usually due to inclement weather. In the event of inclement weather or other emergency that requires us to cancel a performance, the Box Office will email ticket holders with their options. Announcements will also be on the website homepage, social media sites, and, in most cases, on the box office voicemail message.

We will make every effort to alert patrons to cancellations as soon as possible. The decision regarding whether or not to cancel will be made by 2 hours before show time at the very latest. If this occurs tickets will be exchangeable or refundable, with refunds given in the form of credit on the ticket purchaser’s account.

ACCESSIBILITY OFFERINGS

AT LAKESHORE PLAYERS THEATRE

We strive to make our performances accessible to all members of our community, regardless of income, ability, or age. We are committed to offering an experience that can be enjoyed

by all patrons whether you’re here for a performance, a tour or an educational experience. Take a look at the accessibility options that we offer here at Lakeshore:

FOR THOSE WITH MOBILITY DISABILITIES

Theatre Seating: Both our blackbox theatre and mainstage auditorium have accessible wheelchair/scooter seating, with at least one companion seat adjacent. We also have seats with removable arm rests for patrons who’d rather transfer from a wheelchair or walker.

Parking: Accessible, free parking is available in our lot, with handicapped parking spots near each of our three entrances.

Restrooms: Our restrooms are located on either side of our building, and are fully accessible to patrons in wheelchairs.  We are thrilled to mention that because of our Capital Campaign, a theatrical experience in our building can be accessed without elevators

FOR THOSE WHO ARE DEAF OR HARD OF HEARING

Assistive-Listening Devices: Devices that amplify and clarify sound by cutting down ambient noise are available at the box office.

ASL Interpretation: American Sign Language interpretation, by certified interpreters.

Open-Captioning: When you have hearing loss, but do not benefit from assistive listening devices, or simply miss a word here and there, Open Captioning can keep you from missing out. Similar to closed captioning in television or on TV, our open captioning device streams the lines that our actors say and sing onstage, in real time, so that you can follow along from any seat in the auditorium.

FOR THOSE WHO ARE BLIND OR HAVE LOW VISION

Audio Description: Audio described performances involve a trained professional that describes actions, costumes, scenery, and other aspects of the production not conveyed by voices from the stage. The describer talks into a mouthpiece which is transmitted to earpiece devices, so that patrons who are blind can hear discreetly, to enhance their experience.

Large Print Programs: Large print programs are available free of charge for every Mainstage performance.

ADDITIONAL ACCESSIBILITY AMENITIES

Pay-What-You-Can Night: In order to remain accessible to patrons with limited income, we offer one pay-what-you-can performance for every production. Pay $10, $5, or $1! All are welcome. Pay-What-You-Can performances happen the Thursday before opening night of every mainstage production.

Wide Seats: We have four extra wide seats in our main auditorium. These seats are available for patrons with young children, with limited mobility, and to offer extra comfort and flexibility for our patrons.  To reserve these seats for your next performance, please inquire at the box office.

SENSORY-FRIENDLY PERFORMANCES

A sensory-friendly performance is intended to be sensitive to and accepting of any audience member who may benefit from a more relaxed environment. Although these performances are open to all patrons, they are intentionally modified to accommodate patrons with sensory sensitivities including anxiety, autism spectrum disorders, learning differences or challenges attending the theater. Some modifications will be made to the performance, which may include reducing the volume of loud noises and effects, eliminating strobe lights, keeping the house lights on and allowing patrons to make noise & move in the audience as needed. In addition to making adjustments onstage and in the theater, our lobby will include quiet areas, and our staff present will assist patrons to enjoy an open, welcome, accessible environment.
