SUMMER theatre opportunities @ LAKESHORE PLAYERS THEATRE
Improv-aganza WITH THE BRAVE NEW WORKSHOP
open to STUDENTS 7TH-12TH GRADE
“The Brave New Workshop is the nation’s oldest satirical comedy theater and this year we are celebrating 61 years of laughter! Over the course of 61 years you learn a thing or two, like how to offer great summertime programming for young people. The Brave New Workshop Student Union is excited to be offering a partnership with our Friends at Lakeshore Players!
In this camp, students will spend the week learning improv from the ground up. This is the perfect session for any student who has been curious about improv and is looking to really give it a try. By the end of this camp students will be participating in scenes and getting their feet wet in long form improv.”

ABOUT THE BRAVE NEW WORKSHOP
“The Brave New Workshop has been crafting audacious, hilarious, and thought-provoking original comedy, improv and satire in Minneapolis since 1958 – longer than any other theatre in the U.S. Founded by the legendary Dudley Riggs, the Brave New Workshop is a truly unique place to laugh, learn, think, and play. Alongside our own theatrical productions, the BNW hosts a variety of performances in our ETC theatre, and also provides video production, live event entertainment, emcee services and venue rentals. Our Creative Outreach division offers speaking and training for Fortune 500 companies like Microsoft, Hilton, General Mills, and Target. The BNW’s school, the Student Union, boasts the most comprehensive improv training curriculum in the country. With a commitment to sustainability and a unique business model, the BNW operates as a self-funding arts organization. In many respects, improvisation is a metaphor for life. At the Brave New Workshop, we use good humor, mutual respect, trust, support, acceptance, self-esteem and creativity to create a successful show. Turns out those are often the same skills we use to create experiences that make our lives more fulfilling.” -www.bravenewworkshop.com
